GenNZ Summer School 2025 – Slovenian Induction Marks a Green Skills Milestone

83

On 7th May 2025, the Upskilling Erasmus+ Generation Net Zero (GenNZ) Summer School officially launched with a vibrant online induction session, bringing together participants from across Slovenia and Greece. The event marked the beginning of an exciting journey for 40 individuals working in or aspiring to join the tourism and hospitality sector.

Organised under the Erasmus+ programme and co-led in Greece by European Sustainability Academy and in Slovenia by the Entrepreneurship Movement Club (EMC), the GenNZ Summer School focuses on equipping participants with practical, work-based green skills. These skills are essential for a sector that is under increasing pressure to become more sustainable while remaining economically viable.

Participants from Slovenia include small tourism business owners, VET educators, destination managers, and mid-career professionals, all united by a shared commitment to a greener future. Through a blend of online modules, live webinars, and workplace-based learning, they will co-create and test the very framework designed to prepare Europe’s tourism workforce for a Net-Zero future.

By the end of the summer, each participant will earn a MicroCredential in Green Skills for Tourism and an invitation to the final celebration and graduation in Athens and Crete in September.

This induction is more than a start – it’s a signal that Slovenia is stepping forward to lead in sustainable tourism transformation.
